The University of Cadiz, through the Vice-rectorate of Digitalisation and Infrastructures, has been collaborating with the organisation of the SAIL GP which, over the course of this weekend, will be held in Cadiz for the second consecutive year.
Specifically, the UCA will provide access to the upper part of the Constitución 1812 building to monitor and supervise the tests and to be the location from which the drones that Telefónica has provided for the recording and broadcasting of the tests will be controlled.
Three drones with 5G SA connectivity will be used to follow the evolutions of the fastest catamarans in the world, which represents an alternative to traditional means that use fossil fuels such as helicopters, thus facilitating the transition to clean energy and less polluting impact.
Last June, the UCA hosted the coordination meeting of the Spain Sail Grand Prix I Andalucía-Cádiz 2022 and has set up a banner on the home page of its website with a connection to the organisation’s corporate signal to follow the races via the official YouTube channel.
